7 Big Bathroom Trends for 2021 that you’ll want to know about!

Are you redesigning your bathroom but have run out of ideas or need some inspiration? Well, today is your lucky day, as we’ll delve into what’s trending in the world of bathrooms for 2021!

Back to Black

There’s something about a black bathroom that speaks luxury and sophistication. And, if you’re a fan of this colour scheme then you’ll be pleased to know that it’s really big this year!

Walk into most bathroom stores and you’ll see what we mean. Black bathtubs and bright white tiles scream WOW. Black toilet bowls and vanity units are on trend this year as are thin black metal framed shower enclosures.

If you want to add that extra bit of indulgence, choose brushed gold mixer taps and accessories.

Be Brave with colour

Bright and bold colours aren’t usually associated with bathrooms, but 2021 says it’s time for a change.

But if that’s not quite your thing, then don’t panic as you don’t have to go all out, instead choose neutral tones and try adding a feature wall of coloured tiles or patterned wallpaper to add that little bit of pizzaz.

Bring the great outdoors indoors

It’s not surprising that in light of the Covid pandemic, homeowners are realising the potential of the rooms in their homes, the bathroom being one of them.

Focussing on mindfulness, home spas are big for 2021. Visualise calm neutral colours, whirlpool baths, and natural materials.

Wood-affect tiles mixed with textured stone tiles and lots of luscious greenery in pots or draping down.

Add a few beautifully scented candles and you’ll create a calm oasis that you’ll never want to leave.

Luxury Fixtures & Fittings

A sink is just a sink, right? Wrong!

Fixtures and fittings are big business, and the mood is choosing statement pieces like marble floating vanity units, slick black matt taps, awe-inspiring light-fittings, and designer wall-hung towel rails.

Bright White

Whether you love them or hate them, white bathrooms are not going anywhere fast.

But they don’t have to look stark or clinical. Glossy white subway wall tiles, marble effect-wall tiles and funky patterned flooring like mosaic, check and traditional Victorian flooring are proving to be a big hit this year.

White bathroom suites are still a popular choice because they never date and work well in contemporary and traditional bathrooms.

Wood-affect vanity units and patterned and natural material basins, inject that extra bit of oomph if that’s what you’re looking for.

Statement Bathtubs

2021 is all about unwinding, especially after the events of the past year, and a luxurious big bathtub that you’ll want to stay in until you turn wrinkly is in demand.

If you want to be really on-trend this year, choose a free-standing tub and make it the focal point of your bathroom, or if you have space, your bedroom!

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

This year, mirrors are getting all dolled up with lights to inject ambiance and create an attractive focal point in your bathroom.

Bright white LED’s will help you see yourself in a better light, whilst colour-changing backlights are perfect for when you fancy a soak in the tub with subtle mood lighting.

Light a few candles, and voila you have your own sanctuary to relax in.
